Pete and Carmen

Pete and I met at the University of Georgia. We are avid Dawg fans! He seldom loses anything. I lose everything. He's uptight. I'm a free spirit. He likes creamy peanut butter and I like crunchy. We have been married since 1999, and although life isn't perfect, it's pretty close. Pete's a high school Ag teacher and I'm a middle school Instructional Coach. When our youngest daughter was born in 2005, and our oldest daughter started crying every time we left my parents' farm to head back home just north of Savannah, we decided we had to make a change. We left great jobs, great friends and close proximity to a Wal Mart to move to the farm and build our dream house. Some days when it rains and the power goes out and the dirt road we live on becomes virtually impassable or when I come home to chickens running loose in my yard and I have to chase them in my italian leather pumps I will admit that "what the hell was I thinking?" runs through my mind. But usually afterwards, one of the kids will come flying around the house riding their bike making a bee line for their grandparents' house across the road because Poppy's grilling out and I know it's all been worth it. So that's us....living the good life and getting better at understanding what the good life really is!
